Johnson Stokes & Master’s (JSM) Intellectual Property practice and its lawyer were recognised in the 2023 edition of the Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) Patent 1000. The annual guide “shines a spotlight on the firms and individuals deemed outstanding in the pivotal field of patent law.”
IAM Patent 1000 noted that the firm’s patent litigator “take on and win difficult cases, demonstrating technical agility, keen strategic instincts, high-level advocacy skill and an even temperament.” The guide also highlighted that the practice obtains “vital patent protection, handling global patent portfolios, directing strategy and closing big-ticket deals.”

Published by IAM magazine, the IAM Patent 1000 is described as “the definitive resource for identifying top patent professionals and firm-wide private practice patent expertise in key jurisdictions around the globe.” The guide was compiled following an extensive qualitative research project to identify outstanding firms and individuals across multiple jurisdictions. When identifying the leading firms, factors such as depth of knowledge, market presence, and the level of work on which they are typically instructed were all taken into account, as well as positive peer and client feedback.
