Non-contentious work experience
  • Updating a private developer’s standard construction and consultancy contracts for compliance with CISPO.
  • Advised a charitable organisation on the terms in its tender documents for renovation works carried out on a Grade 1 Historic Building.
  • Reviewing and preparing a suite of construction tender documents for the renovation of a newly purchased commercial property in Hong Kong.
  • Advised a materials supplier on contracts with its independent contractors for the supply and transportation of such material.

Contentious work experience
  • Advised a statutory body employer in relation to a tower crane accident which had caused a few fatalities at the construction site of a housing development project, and advising on the potential liabilities of various parties involved.
  • Advised a statutory body employer in relation to a dispute with the contractor relating to workmanship and delay issues.
  • Advised a main contractor in relation to upstream and downstream disputes arising from the development of a major infrastructure.
  • Advised an employer on legal issues arising from the provisional liquidation and impending insolvency of a Paul Y entity.
  • Acted for a major developer on a flagship luxury residential development in relation to a multi-hearing arbitration dispute relating to workmanship, design, delay and disruption issues.
  • Acted for a major construction company on building summonses relating to construction material quality in a high-profile residential development project.
  • Acted for numerous clients in appeals against the government authority for its handling of unauthorised building works.
