Real Estate partner Eugene Wong commented on the 2026 Policy Address initiatives regarding the support of expanding the student hostel supply and accelerating the development of the Northern Metropolis University Town.
He notes that the introduction of the proposed Code of Practice for Operating Student Hostels is encouraging, as it will provide greater clarity and consistency for operators, investors and educational institutions. As further initiatives are introduced to promote Hong Kong as an international education hub, it will be important to continue supporting both government initiatives and private investments that facilitate the development of student accommodation across different stages of education.
