This year's JSM Accelerate CPD Series: From Innovation to Accountability concluded successfully attracting a full house.
The distinguished speaker line-up brought together representatives from Mandiant (part of Google Cloud), Cathay, ALITA, LITE Lab@HKU, Microsoft, the Hong Kong Bar and JSM to examine some of the most pressing technology and AI issues facing lawyers and businesses today. Drawing on their diverse legal, regulatory, technological and commercial experience, the speakers provided valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges arising from rapid technological change.
The programme opened with a panel discussion on governance-first AI, examining board-level oversight, emerging cyber threats and their operational and financial implications. Subsequent sessions explored the impact of InsurTech and AI on the insurance sector, the responsible adoption of generative AI, workflows and agents in legal practice, Hong Kong's evolving approach to AI regulation and governance, and recent developments in intellectual property, advertising and IP-backed financing.
