In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, Jasmine Chiu, partner and co-chair of Gender Equality Network, shares JSM’s role in advancing gender equality in the workplace with HumanResources Online.
She emphasises the firm’s top-down approach, which involves recognising and celebrating women champions while promoting them to leadership roles and proactively engaging senior male management as allies. Additionally, she highlights how JSM fosters an inclusive culture by providing unconscious bias training and other gender equality initiatives, such as offering internship opportunities for underrepresented groups.
“At JSM, we advance gender equity by empowering our people for career advancement with equitable support for all genders and recognising the need to impose measures to retain and advance female talents as they become more senior,” she says.
Jasmine has also been quoted in FinanceAsia on women in the sustainable finance sector, and in China Business Law Journal, where she states that support from male allies plays a key role in women’s advancement at work.
