Tom notes the new Hong Kong’s Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance (Cap. 652) will have major impact in 2026 as adjudication disputes emerge. He urges employers and contractors to update contracts and cash‑flow processes to ensure compliance. It is also anticipated that stricter building safety rules will be imposed in response to the Tai Po fire tragedy, increasing responsibilities for building owners and contractors.
